rambling6.jpgWhere have I been? What have I been doing?

Well I wish I could say I have been doing something exciting but no…..bloody WoW has taken me for a spin.
Bastards

What else?

Ok, if you have never played Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War for PC, then you are an idiot.
Easily the best RTS game I have played and with Soulstorm freshly released I have lost all offline time as well.
There are the 3 of us (myself, IEKenner and Taxation) that have taken it upon ourselves to conquer the galaxy with the Sisters of Battles each Monday night.
I tell you now, get it, get all the expansions and find us to play. You know what? I think I may even do a review on the game at some point.

New Season of Indoor has commenced and it looks like they are moving LFB – caution pop-ups to C grade after putting us up against a B grade team last night.
Which we did bloody well I think to be beaten 153 – 187. Donna and I walked out with 74 for our skin (he did most of the work smashing them for 46) and I was very happy with my bowling (normally bowl legspin but this season I have decided to bowl medium swing)

Manboobs have our second game tomorrow after the other team forfeited last week. Shall be good

AFL is BACK!
The 1st round has been completed and the North Melbourne F.C. took a bloody and depressing blow early on against Essendon.
You know I have been a member with North since 2000 but this is the 1st year I am actually a North Melbourne member and not a Kangaroo member…..it feels so good and right.
IEKenner has convinced me to play AFL dream Team this year and it was a rocky start. I made many mistakes, biggest one was having Nathan Ablett in the team and the second was getting my reserves and emergencies mixed up. So I have already used 2 of 20 trades. Fingers crossed its a better week.
No doubt IEKenner and I will be on the blower this weekend with his mighty Richmond Tigers battling the North Melbourne Kangaroos.

Think that covers it for now. I have added 2 more contributors who shall be posting soon so be easy on them =)

rambling1.jpgI have finally come down from the high of the glorious indoor cricket grand final victory from Tuesday night!
Well ok, I have finally got off my lazy butt to post our win.
Tuesday night at 6pm the lads from LFB – Loud Fat Bastards took on the might of …um…what were they called…crap…sorry folks, can’t even remember the name of the opposition, in D grades Grand Final.

They put us into bat, confident that the pitch would hold.
Enter Phantom and Gadget with the professional absent looking batting style. From the start it was clear we came to play as the 1st pair walked out with 50 runs between them.
Then it was my turn with Ant and we strode in confident as always …..fine, bickering as always as to who will face the first ball. We played our shots with grace….well we swung and hoped, one glorious shot after…wish I could say other, we rushed to 30 runs….then we got out a lot and scraped to 41.
With this great platform set, enter the Cat and Lucky, the speedsters of the team. Don’t blink or they will get another 5 runs off you. And they did. With little deft shots the managed to scamper home when the opposition were to busy thinking about their 1st beer after the game. The speedsters did us proud and walked away with 33 runs.
This total looked to be out of the history books as the biggest run chase set in the history of… well that night.
Next in were the duo of Sparky and Gibbsy. The ever reliable twosome….unfortunately not the right type of reliability.
They flung their bats at everything (Gibbsy did have some plan behind his shots but Sparky…) and we watched as our total went down instead of up for 3 of the 4 overs. To their credit, Speaky and Gibbsy stopped thinking about if it was a T-shirt or Jumper for the win and put the runs back on the board with a modest 20something runs.
The target was set – 144

Our turn to field.
It came quiet apparent that we were part of something special after Gadgets 1st over, there were no leg side wides.
Bowler after bowler, wickets were tumbling and the opposition struggled stay in the positives.
Up stepped Phantom with his MVP performance and took the 1st hat trick of the night….when I say he took a hat trick, he did indeed bowl the ball but that was his only part in the wickets…3 Run outs. He did also fail to convert 3 other hat tricks of 3 other bowlers…but its ok..he bought beer.
By the time the 3rd pair came out needing 80 runs to win, the game took a turn of “well let’s get this done so we can drink”

In the end it was a emphatic victory to us, the LFB by almost 100 runs (144 – 53 I think) and we did indeed get our fancy Premiership jumpers…Hoodies to be exact (how old do they think we are?)
And in celebration, much beer was drunk from the victorious Plastic Jugs and there was much rejoicing. Thoughts of the next season were already there..well we were aware that we now hold the Jug and that is very important.
It was a glorious night and now I must see if i can replicate the euphoria tonight as I play for the Manboobs in our C Grade grand final vs Animals whom we have never beaten.

Fingers crossed.
